We Are Lifestyle Change Facilitators
Have you noticed not so many people are going to church anymore?
That doesn’t mean there are more “sinners” out there, it just means society is changing and people have different priorities ... which is a good thing for lifestyle change facilitators like Consulting Hypnotists.
The church used to serve as the hub of the community where everyone commonly met to socialise and catch up on the local news, to get married, buried, baptised and christened, and where everyone pitched in for bake sales and roasts and charity fundraising events.
It was also a place to confirm our beliefs about our purpose in life, about how what we do fits into and contributes to the community. It was a place where we could reaffirm the meaning of our lives.
THE NEW SOCIETY
People are thinking and believing differently now, though. The “new” rules of a changing society’s values have people wondering what we’re working for, what we’re living for, what we have to look forward to.
The tradition of getting married, having children and proudly guiding them through life until they became adults themselves, then having time to sit back and enjoy grandchildren while family support us in our last years is now a distant dream for many.
Now, closely packed as we are, people hardly know their neighbours. People are scared to walk their pets after dark, to get out of the car to help someone, or to even wave to someone from inside the car lest it be misinterpreted as a threatening gesture.
As depressing as that sounds, the human race has always excelled at adapting, but not without some wrinkles. Change forces a different way of thinking which makes us question beliefs and customs that may no longer be working for us in our situation.
ADAPTING WITH MOTIVATIONAL HYPNOSIS
Before the industrial revolution, we consulted parents, elders, or oracles for advice on life. But then as in now, the action arising from new thought has to be initiated by man. No matter the wisdom of the advice, we have to motivate ourselves to do it, rather than just think about it.
Rev. Dr. Scot Giles, the legislative officer of NGH and probably the leading hypno-oncologist in the country, who draws his personal philosophy from those who have gone before, describes life very succinctly on his web page (www.csgiles.org).
“In the larger picture, these realities are the ones we guide our clients to adopt ...
Life is difficult. The causes of life's difficulties are problems. However, it is by dealing with life's problems that we find our courage and wisdom.
The Power of Choice: We have the power to choose. Events may change our lives, but we decide what those changes mean. We can choose to tell ourselves a Victor’s Story just as easily as a Victim’s Story, and what we say to ourselves in the privacy of our mind has tremendous power.
Positive Expectancy: Thinking well of the future is essential. While there are always moments of uncertainty, you will consistently fare better if you expect a positive outcome.
Extreme Self-Care: Practicing self-care is the first step in caring for others in a healthy way. Putting the Golden Rule into practice means realising that we are the most important person in our lives. We can help others best if our own lives are full and happy.
Subconscious Power: Our Minds have immense power. Our subconscious mind is the greatest goal achieving instrument ever evolved. However, how well it works depends on how well it is programmed. Successful people use its power by learning to manage their minds in service to their hearts. Unsuccessful people sabotage themselves by absorbing negative suggestions from the environment and not attending to corrective information. Hypnotism is one of the most effective ways to manage subconscious power.
Boundary-Setting: Limits are important. We cannot have healthy relationships if we do too much for other people. If we never say “no,” our “yes” has little meaning.”
WE HELP THE CHANGE TO START WITHIN
Motivational hypnosis opens the doors to higher self-awareness that leads to intuitive reasoning and an amelioration of the pains and disappointments we experience during our life.
We’re not the first ones to go through our particular travails and we won’t be the last ones, but the better we can take care of ourselves as a primary consideration, the better we can take care of and help those around us.
Internationally known motivational speaker Bob Proctor (who’s actually a Canadian, eh) hit the nail on the head when he said, “You are the only problem you’ll ever have, and you are the only solution.”
Once we embrace that belief and stop blaming others for life disappointments, we find that growth is a personal decision, and once started, positive change is inevitable.
Recently I had the opportunity to contribute a chapter to the book “Concrete Jungle - Survival Secrets for the Real World” (Insight Publishing), as did Bob Proctor, where I wrote that it’s not necessary to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune to “get it.”
“It” develops by living life and learning life skills along the way to build a solid foundation that allows you to turn challenges and confusion into focus, opportunities, growth, and confidence.
“It” develops by empowering yourself through humility and good mentorship to build self-esteem, self-worth, mental discipline, and an inner power and goes hand-in-hand with personal growth.
“It” develops by opening to a higher power, allowing you to find more meaning and purpose in life so you can connect more deeply with yourself and your intuition.
BE YOUR OWN CHURCH
We all carry our beliefs with us. We don’t develop our beliefs in a building, we get them from life experience however much the building is a place of protection from the elements and peace from the rush of life where we can reflect on our lives.
With motivational hypnosis though, we can help our clients find that same inner peace and calm just by touching their first finger and thumb together, the same as when they put their hands together to pray.
With motivational hypnosis, we can help anyone find their place again almost instantly by showing them how to hear the most powerful force in the universe ... their own mind.
